06/26/23 My God is good. How ’bout yours?
God is so good. Good: that even after we acknowledge Him, and yet have miseries in our sin, or failures, or frailties, or undesired circumstances, He is good even in that He lets us see that that misery pales in comparison to Him. And so we ask for Jesus’ help. How about that?
What other god (there is none like our God!), would lift up his people in time of distress, often providing temporal, lasting blessing and relief – not to mention eternal security in His will!
There’s Not Another God Like Him!
Is there another god who would send his own son, a deity, to die in the place of fallen man (paraphrased) who “in his fallen state, after the fall in the garden of Eden, became less than the beast of the earth” (see A Christian Commentary by Adam Clarke), who offers salvation in the ease of a given man mentioning His Son’s name? No! No other God would send His spirit immediately to a man crushed, lowly, and in no possession of earthly good!
Does anyone else know a King who places the poor on thrones of gold, giving them honor and glory in His Son, in free access to His ear π at any given time? Does anyone else’s King pray for their own souls, and communicate to them with the Bible and in prayer? No. No other king π lives to intercede for us! What other god would shed blood to see a bad man live, only seeing it in faith, not even seeing hope at all while dying for them right in front of them!? No one but Jesus would! Is there any other Lord that mourns or weeps for his people and empathizes with them, not in twisted sadism, but because God himself has suffered as much as any man? No other Lord would.
Our benevolent God is holy, beneficial, and PRESENT! He is only selfish in His wanting us to be with Him, and that should surely be tolerable to us!
God is good. Period. Jesus is the Life! Period, I mean exclamation β(John 10:10)
So that: even if we have a misery, we call to Him and see our need of Him. And if we don’t, He gave the good to us anyway. What a good God!
