09/22/2023 Don’t freeze! God’s will for us is that we don’t freeze up. I have a tendency to think about the Lord so as to keep peace of mind, to serve in prayer, and to just avail myself to thinking about Scriptures/God’s Presence/love as much as possible. This is because He gave me the Holy Spirit who enables me to do good, and I know “apart from Him I can do nothing” (John 15:5). When I do have the ability to serve, to be sure, and without fail – some trial, temptation, circumstance, or sin of mine – will come about to make me stiffen up. Literally, I can feel my soul harden and stiffen if I’m battered enough for one thing or another. Now, I know the goal and the way “of the Spirit”, the way of the Holy-Spirit Life, is to be soft, pliable, and flexible! That is where the REST is, the joy and strength of the Lord, too!

We have to recall that “all things are working for our good” (Romans 8:28), and that if we can run to Him in spirit and truth (John 4:23), run to his Word, and His Scriptures, and to being alone with him – we will find He is there all the time. Those “who come to Me/Jesus I will in no wise cast out” (John 6:37)

And if we’re tempted to “stiffen our necks”, to be obstinate, or to be fortifying ourselves in the wrong direction, then one way or another, and over a good deal of many things, we can remember that He suffered as well. Not only that, but He still suffers with us, even though He is raised to God. If He did it, we can do it! If He does it, we must do it! If He wills it, we will do it! He suffers with us and still carries our burdens every given day (Psalms 68:19)! What an amazing Lord – thank you Jesus!
