10/31/2023 It is so thrilling a thing for a Christian to be able to realize that there are others on this walk of faith, who have tread so faithfully and ministered no matter what it would cost! Such a person was Jan Hus/John Hus, who was a pioneer leading up to the reformation movement (Martin Luther’s 95 Thesis written in 1517). Although the Reformation movement receives most recognition with Martin Luther, John Hus had started the motion of reform even as early as around the year 1400’s.
Recently, my husband and I really enjoyed watching a John Hus film that my husband found on Youtube:
There is an absolute need to watch this, especially if this person John Hus is new to your list of Christian heroes. It is such a blessing, and really pushes you to believe that God can help you endure anything forf Him. He was not near as well known, or ever will be on this earth, as Martin Luther, but he prophesied even while being burned at the stake, something along the lines of him saying “Even though I am a being roasted like a duck, there is a goose coming (referring to probably being Martin Luther) that you (persecutors*) will not be able to roast.” Such bravery, and such honor and glory to the saints of Jesus Christ, who will be blessed forever. I am thankful for this man!
There is a write up on the above youtube video *able to be viewed for free if you have access to youtube, and it is a light summary of the video, and the man John Hus. I will put that summary here as seen on the youtube page:

“Here is an important chapter in the steps leading up to the Reformation. The history books make little mention of this Bohemian priest and scholar who lived 100 years before Martin Luther and the Protestant Reformation. Yet, John Hus was convinced and taught openly that the Bible should be presented in the language of the people, that salvation comes by faith in Jesus Christ, and the Word of God is the final authority. He taught in the University of Prague and as a pastor, challenged the abuses of medieval Christendom. Intrigue and false promises weave a powerful story of one man’s commitment to faith in Jesus Christ. He was summoned to the Council of Constance and promised safety, but he was betrayed. In the end, Hus was accused, imprisoned, and charged with heresy. Ultimately, he was condemned and burned at the stake as a heretic. Director: Michael Economou Starring: Rod Colbin, Regis Cordic”
