When I have tried πŸ‘‘ to get more into studying Jesus’s words, and I mean gazing at them myself, not necessarily looking up references or different authors to tell me what Jesus said, but letting Jesus speak or to me – I find that what Jesus says always brings peace. Jesus, who was the kind of leader that was perfect in everything, spoke plainly and in an attractive way, because he spoke the words of God. He wasn’t swayed by fear of man, the pressures of the crowd, or a negative reality.

I noticed that Jesus spoke in Matthew 6 and was teaching on the mount (Matthew 5:1), when he thought upon different practices and how to teach his listeners to set their mind on things above. πŸ“š He made references to the practices of “pagans”.

Much of our society revolves around us being consumers, constantly buying and shopping, being concerned with tomorrow’s attire or how we can lay up treasures for ourselves now. πŸ‘‚

Going out to eat (which I love to do), and having an eye for the latest mod developments in technology or media, and even having friends based off our like social statuses is the norm for activity, and at the holiday Christmas season πŸŽ„ that’s sometimes amplified.

Jesus was trying to 🍡 teach us not to babble in prayer with meaningless words, or to be so preoccupied with our clothes and our food and our possessions that we miss the eternal things he has for us.

I am really challenged though I have known about these things πŸ’ s for some time, I don’t gaze at the things Jesus says enough.

Jesus came to give πŸ‘† us life and πŸ˜‚ and not to takeaway from us, but to add to our lives every day! (John 10:10). I want to be part of what He has in store as the blessed, prosperous life – the free life in Him that He died to save!
