I know it may seem strict, but in the third line, I have to poke a hole in the use of the word “evolving”, when the line says “evolving” in pursuit of what You said. This may seem so minor as the idea of evolving may sound like a transformation concept, but in the world of Christian foundation, principle, and Scriptural teaching, it’s a BIG deal!
I am so guilty of this, too, and I remember when the song came out, singing it at a church service near Atlanta. We were mesmerized at how good it sounded, and it definitely seemed to register with lots of people in positive feelings. However here are some of the lyrics

EVOLVING in pursuit of what You said
If it all reveals Your nature so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You say

A canvas of Your grace
If creation still obeys You so will I “

This dramatic response to such a mention of a word seems unreasonable, but I do have a reason. In Romans chapters 1 and 2, the argument against the belief in the idea of Evolution as a theory is presented, when Scripture says something along the lines of “men worshipping/serving created things rather than the Creator”, as in the idea of giving monkeys credit for creation, or some weird version of this idolatry. That’s exactly what THE WORLD has replaced the right belief in Jesus Christ with. “Science” in and of itself is not evil, but when separated from the reality of Scripture and truth, as revealed by faith in the Bible, can be and is very evil. Evolutionists have gone so far as to refute Christianity, pitting evolution “enlightenment” against the faith of church history, so that cultural ideals get replaced with putrid, spineless, or absent-altogether ethics.
Because belief in Creation is so important to the Christian faith, it is vital that the authority of Scripture is not questioned. If the Scriptures are questioned, that attest to Jesus Himself, what is our foundation of truth then? There have been many friends of friends, and acquaintances along life’s path that have rejected God because they felt the Bible was fallible in comparison to a (one) man’s experience with some 🐦 observations falsely interpreted about progression of species. Charles Darwin is largely responsible for much confusion, apostasy, and creation of doubt. The acceptance of a broken Scriptural foundation, then gets replaced with prideful attitudes towards a God who is not defined anymore as having rule over man.
So, I’ve said more than needs to be said about hearing the word “evolution” in one lyric is a possibly already-obscure song, but I will be glad to continue to build a sound, logical argument to speak against Christians’ condoning the word of the concept of the heretical and dangerous lie of the mainstream “Evolution” belief and follow My Creator, who is the true God! If it creeps into the church, what hope is there left for the world?
