Lately I have had more times where the Lord could speak to an issue I face or could just be that I get more of Elisabeth Elliott posts in my Facebook feed. I am going through an arduous ordeal currently, trying to lean on what’s correct, and not on my own understanding. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not on thine own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him,and He will guide thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6). I have really been taken aback that when I think I am in control God reminds me that He is Sovereign. And in trusting and knowing that He is good, and He is God, I’m able to minister from and be ministered to in that place. Here are some words from Elisabeth Elliott that hit home for me.

God blesses His work in the dark. Reminds me of Genesis 1:2 “Now the earth was formless and void, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.” That was right before His great creation, the greatest masterpiece we cannot even conceive. So God is working on our darkness, too.
