05/08/2026 I had started to muse on a topic that I was sharing as a prayer concern to a sister in the Lord. The topic was one such that I noticed my other brothers and sisters in the Lord, allowed themselves in their liberty in the Lord. Frankly, the topic was magic. I started to think about past experiences where I spoke to my other family in the Lord, anyone that I was talking to at the time, who considered themselves to be Christian and I began considering an idea that could be helpful when considering one’s individual liberty in the Lord. According to Galatians 14, some Christians have conscience issues with certain ideas like holidays (rightly so), foods, festivals, things they allow for themselves and still consider themselves to be Christians – like honest questions of conscience.

Here are some examples: One believer may allow themselves to use the sign of the cross on their chest as a hand gesture, some may not because of “Protestant vs Catholic” reasons. I do, but others would not. Another Christian may allow holy water, I don’t necessarily use it, but others would when they anoint a sick person or a demon – influenced person or property. Some will pray for healing of others, and think its not only appropriate but mandatory usually; others think its a side issue thats not pertinent to salvation at all! Some will only use a King James Bible, while others will collect Bibles and compare the good, and both may be right at different times in their conscience. There are Christians who hold strict rules for the methods of communion. Even rhose St Paul said to use wine, and Jesus first miracle turned water to wine, some hold that any alchohol is a stumbling 🚫 block or a sin. Another idea related to Galatians 14: Christmas will be celebrated as a holiday and talked about with some believers, while others will refuse a Christmas tree or certain songs considered pagan, like singing a song to a tree in “O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree”… Others will take a whole different approach and attach a spiritual meaning to something so that for them, the idea of symbol does mean something. A Christian may consider homeschooling their children appropriate, and another person that they should be light in a public school environment, while the latter is actually running a great godly home while the homeschooling Mom has horrible houselife skills! Again, in matters of worship, for a group, the group (speculatively) may not hold that women should stand and prophesy in assembly but be open to women as co-pastors; and another group believe and practice women should be mostly quiet, but then not implement moms as the primary caretakers of their own children! Christians do develop their conscience over time as well, sometimes forming great conviction because of something drastic that happens in their own individual lives, and walk with the Lord.

I think that when a believer is born again, shortly after they have truly had that “religous experience”, because I do hold that it is a supernatural occurrence – an experience, according to John 3:3 and John 3:5, I feel a believer should seek water baptism, and soon after praying in tongues or at least asking fervently praying to “go on with Jesus” according to the measure of faith given them. I brought up what I think a good foundation for the “born-again life” because during those first steps to coming into the fold of God, the believer would also have sooo many questions of conscience, if they were honest with themselves. Not only are there biblical questions of conscience literally riddled throughout the Scriptures, there are also many things the Bible doesn’t speak to specifically like: should believers smoke Marijuana, play cards with betting, or let themselves participate in all sports? Simply put, there may be things we should be working w Jesus on in our conscience until He returns.

My desire is that what comes as a result of working 💪 through rough issues with our own conscience being molded by Scripture, godly community, and prayer, it should result in life abundant. The life Jesus died to save and lives to redeem in us, is life to the full! It is anything but boring 😴!,  and the more we get Jesus now formed in our spirits and consciences, I truly believe more heaven comes to earth that way rather than the fanfare we imagine. I’m praying for God to “give me liberty 🗽 that doesn’t result in death”. “The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:56-57) and “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.” (Galatians 5:13)
