Have you ever had a dream in the night?….

Dreamers will dream….

There is a known fact that the Lord gives dreams in the Bible, and I believe He still can today, and does.

There are many servants in the Old and New Testament that had dreams and visions: Joseph, Jacob, Joseph, Mary, Daniel, Abimelech, Laban, the cup-bearer in the story of Joseph, the baker in the story of Joseph, Solomon, Magi that came to see Jesus, Pilate’s wife, …..

I remember that these stories surrounding these people are not just stories with a lesson, but actual people with facts foretold. God spoke to some symbolically, literally, with warnings, with annunciations, with information pertaining to the future, etc.

Joel 2:28 ‘ “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions.” ‘

Again in Acts 2:17 “‘In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.”

We see that dreams are found in the Old and New Testaments. Jeremiah speaks of them:

“I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, ‘I had a dream!. I had a dream!” How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds. They think the dreams they tell one another will make my people forget my name, just as their fathers forgot my name through Baal worship. Let the prophet who has a dream tell his dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?” declares the Lord, “Is not my word like fire,” declares the Lord,  “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces? “Therefore,” declares the Lord, I am against the prophets who steal from one another words supposedly from me. Yes,” declares the LORD, “I am against the prophets who was their own tongues and yet declare, ‘The Lord declares.’ Indeed, I am against those who prophesy false dreams, declares the LORD. They tell them and lead my people astray with their reckless lies, yet I did not send or appoint them. They do not benefit these people in the least,” declares the Lord.” Jeremiah 23:25-32

Notice, Jeremiah states that God doesn’t tell a person to not share their dream at all, but to be honest about it. There are true dreams and false dreams (not a dream at all but a lie, like if you have a nightmare that is demonic), and there is a right way to share a dream and a wrong way to share a dream, as well as a right way to interpret a dream and a wrong way.

The absolute best place to find the answers to dreams is in the Word of God, the Bible, and there is a man named John introduced me to named Ira Milligan, who really did his homework on symbols as communicated, found, interpreted in the Bible and His experience. I have found and believe that this is one of the best books in the whole world for dreams, LOL (but really though), on symbols for interpreting dreams, visions, and coincidental symbols that may occur and recur in your life.

You can get it sent to you “Used” for less than 5.00 off internet. Just google the title, “Understanding the Dreams you Dream”, with the orange fish on it, and it will be the best $5.00 you ever spent in your life! Whether you have had dreams or not, whether you have had 1 dream or 100 of them, and even if you just would like help with symbols in general…You MUST get this! A great supplement for biblical symbols! There are newer versions of this book, newer editions, but the old orange one with the key on the front, is laid out the easiest and plainest in regards to defining the symbols, so I personally encourage that one. The newer ones are too fancy, my husband says, and I agree.

Please start writing down what you think you have received from God, and especially a dream, and He will give you more, – this I know is true! God likes it when people do that.

I have found, too, that in dreams mostly God will deal with me personally with my sins, my heart, the mysteries of life, ANSWERS TO PRAYER, guidance, direction, and more.

But a person shouldn’t ever be too quick to share a dream with another person; because in the story of Joseph son of Jacob/Israel, Joseph was not guarded, and shared his dream prematurely with his brothers, who got mad, and jealous, and sold him into slavery right away.

You’re not going crazy, and you’re not always just a victim of “bad pizza” :), but then again, there are dreams that definitely should be discarded, BECAUSE EVERY SINGLE DREAM IS NOT ALWAYS FROM God. I hope to post a new post soon about how to tell if “messages” (which would cover dreams, visions, voices, signs, …) are from God or the devil, based on homework my husband did in one of his books. NO doubt, there are mistakes to be made when trying to interpret, implement, or make a decision based on a dream. But I think the worse mistake would be throwing away a precious gift such as a message from God, because you didn’t have enough faith to believe it could happen. If you haven’t had a dream, or many dreams, and would like to have them, pray to receive them. “For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to Him who knocks, the door will be opened (Matthew 7:8). Also, start to write down spiritual messages from God in a journal or write down the last thing you can remember, and He will give dreams to you, too!
